Iago Franqueira

I created this image for the release of Iago Franqueira’s first Chopin album, *Scherzi 1–4*, following his success at the Mans Futuro Competition and the recording sessions at Estudios Mans in Galicia.

Iago and I studied together in both A Coruña and Maastricht, so the shoot was exceptionally relaxed and easy-going. We have been friends for more than ten years, and—as you might imagine—the session involved plenty of jokes and laughter.

One of Iago’s many talents is his ability to speak in an impressively strong Galician accent, and he treated us to an extensive demonstration of that particular repertoire throughout the shoot.
